Continuing from last year, we will be holding a simple kintsugi class for two days on June 7th and 8th, 2025, inviting Mr.Takehito Kobayashi（小林剛人さん), a kintsugi craftsman and owner of the cafe "wad" in Osaka at ennen.
Please take this opportunity to join us! Let's learn Kintsugi together!
There will be a session on the history and methods of kintsugi, and you will experience kintsugi using the pottery you brought with you. This workshop is about simple kintsugi (repair using brass and synthetic lacquer).
*The content taught in this workshop is different from the traditional Japanese kintsugi.
In addition to running a gallery and cafe, Mr. Kobayashi is also active as a kintsugi restorer, and is also a collector and curator who has seen many things, from works by contemporary ceramic artists to antiques.
Mr. Kobayashi will talk in detail about the difference between pure gold and genuine lacquer, as well as the history. He will also explain in detail the ingredients of the materials used for simple kintsugi.
In addition to learning how to restore pottery called Kintsugi, we hope you will experience the joy of actually working with Mr. Kobayashi, who has a wide range of experience, and repairing your favorite pottery by yourself!
This is a one-day class from 13:00 to 17:00.

●Time required: 4hours per session (approximately 1 hour drying time in between, tea and sweets will be provided during the break)
●Capacity: Up to 10 people each day

●1 to 3 broken or chipped tableware
(It would be fun to have both cracks and chips!)
